Your Weekly Creative Companion helping you master the inner game, finish what you start, ship your work, and build a brand without yelling; because it’s not the thunder that grows flowers, but the rain.

What if you didn’t have to “out noise” your “competition.”

What if you didn’t have to hustle your face off to get a couple clients?

What if “marketing” felt fu*king good. What if you didn’t have to do it their way?

“Raise your words, not voice. It is rain that grows flowers, not thunder.” – Rumi

How many times have you stopped right before the wheels left the runway? How many dead ideas do you have lingering around sucking your energy?

How frequently do you get distracted by another idea before you finish the one you started….?

For us, it’s a lot…a sh*t ton. It’s embarrassing…

But we’ve learned some stuff.

This podcast exists to get you through “it”.

As a creative living in a loud world, it’s easy to get overwhelmed and distracted. It’s not hard to fall out of momentum.

So, we’re here to be brutally honest about what has worked for us and our guests.

We’ll give you ideas, stories, and mental models around the creative process, building your sustainable business, and riding the emotional wave that comes with it.

Twice a month, we’ll have conversations that will help you stay focused and get into momentum. We’ll give you permission to do things your way.

The way that feels good.

Meet the Hosts

Miles Hanson

Just your average introverted ex-bro marketer. Today, I help brands stop wandering @ Brand Thrive. I love playing (guitar, tennis, pickleball, golf).

I enjoy drip coffee & west coast IPAs. I’m from Austin, TX, lived in Denver for 4 years, and am currently seeing if I’m a “beach guy” in Hermosa Beach, CA.

Bill Small

Not long ago, someone asked me, “What do you create?” I had to think for a minute… Then I replied, “I create music and conversations!” It’s true.

That’s what I do. I make music. I coach amazing people. I have conversations that make a difference. I ride my bike when I can, and try to be a good dad.

Show up, Finish what you start, ship your work, and build a brand without yelling.

The Box Community

The world is overwhelming. We’re constantly being pulled in a million directions, and it’s only going to get worse.

So much of what we’re sold online is about planning, strategizing, and thinking. But doing is the hardest, and most important part.

The Box is where projects get finished. In The Box, you’ll get organized, prioritize your projects, and finish what you start. You won’t learn anything new, you’ll simply get a lot done and be a part of a small community of doers.

Perfect is Boring - really like this episode...You guys are great to listen to!
Thanks for everything you and Bill are doing to help us non-type A's make it in this crazy marketing world. As someone who still gets emails about marketing Systems, your show has been a huge breath of fresh air. You are both so soothing and such a boon to my creative process.
I absolutely love this show. Bill and Miles' calm voices are so soothing and their advice is even better. As someone just starting my marketing journey and who has always struggled with the "icks" that seem to come with it, it has been such a blessing to know there are other people who feel the same way. The advice on this show is perfectly tailored for those who hate the hustle, don't have that type A gusto, but still want to genuinely and successfully sell their products. Thank you so much for all you do!
I highly recommend it for anybody that's interested in the solopreneurship route or working on building a small business for themselves. If you need some guidance or just looking for unique solutions to common problems, Miles & Bill have definitely delivered on that with this podcast.
